Nearly twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the region, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.

Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Residents observed large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Victoria's Storm Challenges

Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.

Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

• Wyndham area - over 175 calls for assistance

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Meteorological Predictions

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity predicted across various areas of both states.

Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
