Former Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
