Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a statement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
