Decisive play in the extra period

Receiver Saubert executed the decisive two-point play for Seattle.

The Seattle Seahawks engineered a stunning comeback to defeat the Rams in overtime, securing their spot in the NFL play-offs.

Rallying from a sixteen-point hole in the final period, the Seattle squad triumphed by a single point at home, registering their fifth consecutive victory.

While the Los Angeles had become the first to earn a post-season spot earlier on Sunday, the Seahawks secured their place to the play-offs after a 24-month absence.

With this result, the Seahawks have taken over their Conference standings with a 12-3 mark, supplanting the Rams, who dropped to the number five seed with an 11-4 record.

Game Highlights

Signal-caller Sam Darnold had two picks but regrouped to make two touchdown passes, including the tying TD to star receiver Smith-Njigba in the extra period.

The Rams held a 13-7 lead at half-time before Walker burst through for a long touchdown run for the home side.

Rams defensive back Wallace then took back Darnold's first interception for 56 yards, leading to a short score by Corum on the next play.

In the final stanza, a touchdown from Matthew Stafford to Nacua extended the advantage to 30-14, but Rashid Shaheed ignited Seattle's hope with a spectacular punt return.

Darnold then found AJ Barner in the end zone, and a successful two-point play forced the game into an extra period.

Although Puka Nacua scored for his another touchdown in overtime, Jaxon Smith-Njigba responded in kind to set up the game-winning score.
