The Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Astrological Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the community. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's release, to players developing firm opinions on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive appearances that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and enjoy a powerful partner; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an constant stream of chatter to those who wish to hear. Much like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for often becoming wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was going to pick Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who uses the sensors on its ears to tell how people are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Super Audino's skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress even more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became sentient through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpion adores karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a performance. As a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee disasters in advance? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
