The President Calls Relatives of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to White House
Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.
Information on the Heartbreaking Incident
Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.
Gatherings across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.
White House Invitation
The president said he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed reporters. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”
Public Support
Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid public safety in DC.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”
Service details for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Actions and Government Revisions
Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy caused the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and halt issuing visas to holders of travel documents.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the news agency.
He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to the family.
Memory of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, as stated by the military.
“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” he informed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
